 Weiss began with strength in oncology – a strength that we retain today.
Started 25 years ago as a unique entity in a community hospital to promote the research and treatment of cancer, our Cancer Center continues to participate in regional, national, and industrial clinical research studies through the University of Chicago’s Section of Hematology and Oncology, in addition to drug company-sponsored programs. By participating in these clinical trials, we are able to offer our patients the latest treatment for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
The Strauss Cancer Center at Weiss is among the best in the nation. Unlike most community hospitals, Weiss has dedicated on-site oncologists who provide highly personalized attention to our patients and their families. On call 24 hours, seven days a week, our oncologists remain highly accessible to those who need us most. Certified oncology nurses work closely with our oncologists, adding yet another important dimension to our seamless care.
Our newly expanded radiation oncology department offers comprehensive radiation therapy through our highly qualified team of radiation oncology professionals and cutting-edge technology. All imaging components, such as MRI, are right here on site.
Our multidisciplinary team is committed to providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive care for cancer patients, and focuses on identifying cancer at an early phase of the disease when chances of successful treatment are best.
Yet for all our advanced technology and high-powered medical expertise, patient satisfaction surveys still rate our Oncology Center “number one” on the human side: “number one” in patient satisfaction.
