Weiss Community Outreach

One of Weiss Memorial Hospital's major contributions to our community is the services provided at the Weiss Health Center located in the Uptown community at 4824 N. Sheridan. This health center houses the Jacob M. Arvey Community Health Center (Arvey Clinic) and had approximately 8,500 patient visits in the year 2000. Arvey Clinic provides primary care and obstetrics and gynecology for a culturally diverse Doctorspatient population. This clinic provides health care to public aid and Medicare recipients and offers a self-pay option for those who are un-insured or under-insured.

Added services for Arvey Clinic patients include a dietitian and social worker to assist the patients as needed. Walk-in patients are seen based on availability of a physician. For an appointment call 773-564-5010 or visit the Arvey Clinic.

Additionally, Weiss provides specialized health clinics for our Russian community  -- look for these services below.

Throughout the year Weiss Memorial Hospital conducts multiple health screenings in the community and participates in several community health fairs, providing blood pressure screenings, osteoporosis screenings, cholesterol screenings, and a variety of literature to participants. Weiss also offers monthly blood pressure screenings at the hospital, a cancer support group, a prostate cancer support group, and seminars on various health problems/conditions and possible treatments available at Weiss.

Following is a listing of some of the other Weiss community outreach efforts, programs, and services currently underway:
