Fax: (773) 561-9031
Dr. Lawrence Stone is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with expertise in glaucoma, cataract and implant surgery and oculoplastics.
He uses the latest tools in ophthalmology, including balloon dacryoplasty, the self-retaining canalicular stent, the PASCAL Dynamic Contour Tonometer, fibrin glue conjunctival autograph technique for pterygium surgery, Optonol glaucoma shunt surgery and Cirrus ™ HD-OCT imaging for early glaucoma detection. Lawrence Stone has been called by his colleagues the “Renaissance Man” of Chicago ophthalmology for wide ranging knowledge of the various subspecialties within ophthalmology, for his speaking and writing contributions to the profession and his knowledge of several foreign languages. His course “Glaucoma Suspects” at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in San Francisco in 2009 challenged conventional thinking and made him a thought leader in this area.
In treating eye diseases, Dr. Stone engages his patient in a conversational style. Understanding that each patient is different in terms of their response to disease, educational or occupation and cultural background, he tries to accommodate individual needs. In today’s harried medical office environment, his unrushed and witty style set him apart. For more information visit www.midnortheyecenter.com.
