The Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory at Weiss Memorial Hospital employs state-of-the art noninvasive ultrasound technology to accurately diagnose disorders affecting human arteries and veins. Advanced ultrasound imaging and Doppler technology are combined to detect blood vessel wall and flow abnormalities. The Vascular Laboratory is accredited by the Intersocietal Committee for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories, a nationally recognized benchmark for high quality and reliable testing procedures.
This advanced noninvasive technology also determines the degree of plaque formation and artery narrowing in the carotid, kidney, abdomen and lower extremity arteries. The Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory can also screen for and measure size of aneurysms involving the aorta. Our testing protocols provide an objective measure of vascular disease progression.
Patients with vein problems (varicose and spider veins) are studied to identify the location and severity of vein valve dysfunction in order to select the most appropriate and state-of-the-art treatment option.
The Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory is staffed with a highly experienced team of professionals dedicated to providing quality care to our patients. The location of the vascular lab to the clinic areas greatly facilitates the coordination and expediency of patient care by our vascular specialists.
