Dr. Domb

Surgeon, Chicago Center for Orthopedics
Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Loyola University Chicago

Benjamin Domb, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee. He is a fellowship-trained expert in sports medicine, including repair and reconstruction of ligaments, cartilage and tendons. He is also a pioneer of new techniques in hip arthroscopy, enabling patients with hip injuries to return to full activity and often prevent or delay joint replacement.

Dr. Domb has authored more than 20 publications in the field of sports medicine and is a 10-time invited speaker at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting. He trained in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic under Dr. Frank Jobe, inventor of the Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery. He subsequently became the first surgeon in the country to complete a multi-center fellowship dedicated to hip arthroscopy, developing unique expertise to offer new options to patients with orthopedic injuries. This multi-center fellowship in hip arthroscopy and joint restoration included:

  • Steadman-Hawkins Clinic, Vail, CO
  • Schulthess Klinik, Zurich, Switzerland
  • Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, NY
  • Nashville Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center, Nashville, TN
  • Southern California Orthopaedic Institute, Los Angeles, CA

Dr. Domb has treated numerous professional athletes and cared for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Galaxy. He is currently team physician for the Chicago Sky (Women’s Professional Basketball). He takes pride in caring for each patient, using the same meticulous approach to restore the person to top-level athletic performance.
