Since 2012, orthopedic and sports medicine experts from the Chicago Center for Orthopedics (CCO) have provided medical care to the Chicago Bandits women’s pro softball team, making the CCO the exclusive healthcare provider for the team’s athletes. The partnership is part of the CCO’s overall commitment to improve the health of the community by caring for both professional players and amateur athletes.
The Chicago Bandits
Founded in the fall of 2004, the Chicago Bandits are part of the National Pro Fastpitch league. The National Pro Fastpitch league (NPF), formerly the Women's Pro Softball League, provides family entertainment for people of all ages and showcases the top talent in fastpitch softball today. The league strives to entertain and provide positive role models for young people. NPF demonstrates work ethic, dedication and love for the sport of fast pitch softball. The Chicago Bandits team plays in a brand new stadium in Rosemont, Ill.
To keep the Chicago Bandits athletes as healthy as possible, the CCO's sports medicine specialists provide patient-centric care and expertise. As the CCO strives to build on its commitment to educate surrounding communities about healthy lifestyles and fitness, player and mascot appearances at Weiss throughout the season will help promote the importance of physical activity and its role in health for life among hospital employees and patients.
