Since 2012, orthopedic and sports medicine experts from the Chicago Center for Orthopedics (CCO) have provided medical care to the DuPage Hounds collegiate minor league baseball team, making the CCO the exclusive healthcare provider for the team’s athletes. The partnership is part of the CCO’s overall commitment to improve the health of the community by caring for both professional players and amateur athletes.
The DuPage Hounds
The DuPage Hounds play their home games out of the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex. They are a member of the Midwest Collegiate League (MCL). The MCL is a summer collegiate baseball league; its participating players are enrolled in college during the academic year and have NCAA eligibility. MCL baseball players compete at some of the top baseball programs not only in Midwest, but across the country. They come to the MCL to play with wood bats, improve their skills and perform in front of Major League Baseball Scouts and local fans. The DuPage County Hounds joined the league in 2012.
To keep the DuPage Hounds athletes as healthy as possible, the CCO's sports medicine specialists provide patient-centric care and expertise. As the CCO strives to build on its commitment to educate surrounding communities about healthy lifestyles and fitness, player and mascot appearances at Weiss throughout the season will help promote the importance of physical activity and its role in health for life among hospital employees and patients. Check the DuPage Hounds website for more information and game schedules.
