Dr. Henry Finn reacts to U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Ranking.
Dr. Henry Finn, Chairman of Surgery and Medical Director of Chicago Center for Orthopedics, has been an attending physician here since 1997.
What do you think makes Weiss one of Chicago's top hospitals?
"I believe Weiss obtained this recognition for orthopedic surgery because of a vision that was shared between our strong CEO and his administrative team with the physician leadership in orthopedics. The development of the Joint University program as well as establishing the CCO at Weiss were two significant milestones. We also have specialized nurses and operating room technicians, social workers, a joint care coordinator and an orthopedic service line director; this focused commitment to orthopedic surgery has been appropriately recognized."
Why do you like working at Weiss?
"Weiss has extremely gifted and talented physicians in all the major specialties. The hospital also has the other care providers necessary for me to attract patients and promise them that I will be able to deliver on the care they expect and deserve. This is not often accomplished in a small community hospital or a major university setting, but Weiss has the best of both."
What keeps you motivated everyday?
"The satisfaction of frequently improving the quality of life for another human being as well as educating the next generation."
