Weiss Memorial Hospital's Security staff is on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be reached immediately for assistance.
The officers perform a variety of functions at the hospital. Security patrols the main hospital building and parking facility, as well as controls access at the hospital's main entrance and other sensitive areas.
Security also monitors alarm points, supports the hospital's emergency preparedness program and conducts fire and safety checks.
Other duties include responding to fire alarms, preparing incident and property damage reports and conducting preliminary investigations.
Security staff provide information to visitors and employees at the main information desk, escort and transport patients and visitors as needed, secure patient valuables for safekeeping, provide key control and issue ID badges and lockers to employees and passes to visitors.
