Doctor, Hematology and Medical Oncology
May Hashimi, M.D., received her medical degree from the University of Baghdad Medical School and completed a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a Medical Oncology Fellowship, both at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Georgetown University. She then completed a Clinical Hematology Fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Hashimi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Hashimi is dedicated to providing honesty, compassion, excellence, and psychological and emotional support. Giving hope to a cancer patient is an essential adjunct to the standard of care and medications used in treatment. She listens to the various needs of patients and family members while understanding that each patient carries their own desires, values, and goals of care. Her focus is on each patient as a unique individual.
Dr. Hashimi’s clinical interests include patient education, women’s health, and health maintenance. She speaks Arabic, German, and English.
