New Women’s Health Center Opens at Weiss Memorial Hospital

CHICAGO (November 20, 2014) — This week Weiss Memorial Hospital announced the opening of a new Women’s Health Center that specializes in laparoscopic surgery, urological gynecology, full fertility services, and general surgery for many health conditions that affect women, ranging from the common to the complex. Carlos Rotman, M.D., chief of gynecology at Weiss, will lead the new Center.The Women’s Health Center has affiliated experts who offer the latest treatment options for a variety of health conditions including fibroids, infertility, endometriosis, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and uterine bleeding, as well as gastrointestinal and endocrine disorders. The Women’s Health Center patients will also have convenient access to primary care physicians, pain management, radiology and imaging, and oncologists on site at the hospital.

Dr. Rotman is a board-certified gynecologic surgeon and certified advanced laparoscopic surgeon. He has created and developed new techniques and instrumentation in the field of laparoscopic surgery. He performs minimally invasive surgeries to treat many gynecologic conditions, including uterine fibroids, endometriosis and hysterectomy. He is also one of few doctors worldwide who offer laparoscopic reversal of previous tubal sterilization, for which he has one of the highest academically published success rates (pregnancy after reversal) in the world.
