If you are admitted to the ER and stroke is suspected, your doctor will connect you with the stroke team at Northwestern Memorial using a secure video conferencing device. Northwestern Memorial’s stroke experts will work with your ER team to diagnose your stroke and ensure you receive the best treatment possible.
Telestroke connects you with Northwestern Memorial’s stroke team using a secure video conferencing device, allowing you and your family to speak face-to-face with board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons experienced in the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of stroke. Using a high-definition camera, Northwestern Memorial’s stroke experts will examine you and determine a plan of care for your stroke. Your ER team will initiate your treatment, so you never have to leave the ER. If advanced stroke care is needed, you will be transferred directly to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where the right specialists will be waiting.
Telestroke gives you access to Northwestern Memorial’s stroke specialists—including board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons experienced in the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of stroke—without having to leave the ER.
