In his role as president, Dr. Rose acts as the official voice and representative of the medical staff. He appoints committees of the medical staff, supervises and coordinates medical staff activities; serves as a member of the hospital’s board of trustees; chairs the Medical Executive Committee and Credentials Committee; and acts as a liaison among the medical staff, trustee board and hospital president.
“I am humbled by the support of my colleagues,” Dr. Rose said. “In this leadership position, I plan to align the priorities of all our stakeholders – patients, medical staff, administration, employees and other providers in our community – to deliver the best, high quality healthcare to our patients and strengthen our reputation on Chicago’s North Side.” Dr. Rose lives in the city’s Uptown neighborhood with his wife.

Henry Finn, MD, F.A.C.S., medical director of the Chicago Center for Orthopedics, medical director of the University of Chicago Bone and Joint Replacement Center at Weiss and professor of surgery at the University of Chicago, also remains the appointed Chair of the Department of Surgery at Weiss. The position entails managing the clinical and administrative organization, activities and functions of the department, coordinate inter- and intradepartmental services and programs, and oversee the clinical privileges in the division.
“I am honored to get this vote of confidence from my peers to serve an additional term in this highly regarded position,” Dr. Finn said. “I will continue to foster an environment of professional excellence and collegiality, and put an emphasis on the patient experience.”
Maribe Bangayan, MD, pulmonary and critical care medicine specialist, has been elected Chair of the Department of Medicine at Weiss. Her duties include supervising the medicine department in both the administrative and clinical spheres, recommending clinical privileges to department members and implementing a monitoring and development system for members.
“I am excited to take on this role,” Dr. Bangayan said. “I hope to enable the medical staff to deliver the best patient care possible.”
