You’ve seen the difference that Weiss Memorial Hospital can make in the lives of those in our community. If you’d like to be a part of helping those in our community achieve greater health, volunteering at Weiss can be a great way to become involved. Our volunteers complement the exceptional work of our professional staff and round out the outstanding care patients and their families experience at Weiss.

Volunteers perform an essential role at the hospital, with opportunities to make a difference including:

  • Greeting visitors with a friendly face
  • Helping visitors find their destinations at the hospital
  • Being a compassionate voice on the phone
  • Making patients and their families feel welcome and appreciated
  • Doing light clerical support, such as filing, mailings, and computer work

How to Get Started

To become a volunteer at Weiss Memorial Hospital, the first step is to complete the Volunteer Application and submit it to the volunteer department via mail or fax (773-564-5226).

Once you have submitted your volunteer application, a volunteer coordinator will contact you to inform you of the next volunteer orientation and opportunities to volunteer at Weiss.

Who Can Volunteer?

Volunteering is open to anyone older than age 13. At Weiss Memorial Hospital, we look for volunteers who embody the spirit of our staff — bright, energetic, and outgoing.

What Can I Expect When I Volunteer?

As a volunteer, you’ll be informed of opportunities throughout the hospital. You’ll learn about what to wear and other important information at your volunteer orientation.

Volunteers typically work between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This can vary by department and task. As a volunteer, you have access to free parking in the parking garage on Clarendon Avenue during your volunteer hours.
