Emergency Medical Training

Emergency Medical Training offers an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program to help prepare you for success in this vital career.

EMT Classes at Weiss

EMT classes are taught by doctors, nurses, doctor assistants, and paramedics. The hands-on skills are taught by experienced professionals in the emergency medical services field. Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday in the hospital’s auditorium, from 5-10 p.m. Class sessions begin in January, May, and September. Registration for the 15-week course begins before the start of each semester on a first come, first-served basis.

HOW DOES THE EMT PROGRAM WORK?

The EMT program requires a score of 80% or above to pass. When you pass, you graduate as an EMT. The EMT program is licensed and certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of Emergency Medical Services. Passing the EMT program also qualifies you to take the state or national board exam to become licensed and certified as an EMT.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

To learn more about the EMT program or to register, please call (847) 942-8868 or (847) 942-8887. Information can also be received at (773) 564-5244 on Mondays and Wednesdays at the hospital.
