Security at Weiss

Public safety officers perform a variety of functions at the hospital, including patrolling the main hospital building and parking facility, controlling access at the hospital’s main entrance and other sensitive areas, and monitoring alarm points. They also support the hospital’s emergency preparedness program and conduct fire and safety checks. Other duties include responding to fire alarms, preparing incident and property damage reports, and conducting preliminary investigations.

Weiss public safety officers provide information to visitors and employees at the main information desk, escort and transport patients and visitors as needed, secure patient valuables for safekeeping, provide key control, and issue ID badges and lockers to employees and passes to visitors.
