When you’re having trouble breathing, it’s hard to concentrate on anything else. At Weiss Memorial Hospital, our respiratory care services work to identify and treat acute or chronic problems, so you can get back to enjoying life.
What happens in Respiratory Care?
Our Respiratory Care functions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our licensed respiratory therapists are trained to assess, treat, manage, control, educate and care for your cardiopulmonary problems. We work with you to identify the best possible treatment to address your specific health needs.
What kinds of treatment do you offer?
Our respiratory therapists offer a wide range of treatments, including:
- Oxygen therapy
- Nebulizer and aerosol therapy
- Hyperinflation therapy
- Bronchial hygiene therapy
- Mechanical ventilation
What’s a lung function test?
If your doctor determines your breathing should be tested, your test will be performed at our Pulmonary Function Lab. There, noninvasive diagnostic breathing tests will help diagnose symptoms of shortness of breath and the extent of diseases such as asthma or pulmonary fibrosis. All pulmonary function tests are read by a board certified pulmonologist.
