Community Outreach

Committed to Serving our Community

At Weiss Memorial Hospital, we’re a part of our community, and ensuring the health and wellness of our community is a top priority. That’s why we coordinate programs in the community, including offering health screenings and community health fairs that promote better health outside of the hospital environment.

Community Health Center

The Arvey Health Center is located on the fourth floor of Weiss Memorial Hospital and has been providing care to Chicago’s Uptown community for more than fifty years.

The Arvey Health Center is a teaching facility staffed by Weiss internal medicine residents working under the direct supervision and guidance of Weiss teaching attending doctors. The clinic provides care to Public Aid, Medicare, and self-pay patients, as well as patients with most commercial insurances.

The Arvey Health Center provides a full range of medical services for adults with referrals to subspecialists provided if needed; services for outpatient radiology and lab work are conveniently located at Weiss. The center is open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. For an appointment, please call (773) 564-7400.

Support Groups, Classes, Health Screenings and Events

A variety of support groups and educational opportunities are available to members of the community, including groups and events for Alzheimer’s caregivers, cancer patients, grief, and veteran support groups.

We also offer multiple health screenings in the community throughout the year, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes screenings.

Senior Services

Our senior population is very important to Weiss, which is why we offer programs unique to the needs of those ages 60 and older, including our WISE— the Weiss Initiative Supporting Elders program.
